Every coffin features a hand woven plait. This forms part of the lid.
This is the uppermost band in the main body of the coffin. It is still visible when the lid is closed.

This band is directly above the handles.
Band (below handles)

This is the lowest band in the main body of the coffin
Natural processes create antique buff, buff, natural barked, steamed and white willow finishes. Natural dyes are used to create coloured willow handles. Alternatively, select rope handles. Either allows a weight of 30+ stone (190+ kilos) to be carried.
Screws or Toggles
Toggles or screws determine how the coffin lid will close. If toggles are chosen, our weavers will select the best colour to match the coffin design. A very small number of coffins have been photographed with only toggle closures. In this instance, if screws are selected the image will not change. The Order Form will state the correct closure choice.
Choose either a flat base or one with runners. Please contact your Funeral Director to find out which base they prefer for transportation.
